Creekside Acres is a small, family run fiber farm located in the heart of the Hudson Valley. We have a small herd of alpacas and goats that get special attention everyday! Our alpacas and goats are part of our family! Each animal has a name, a unique personality, a best friend and a favorite place to sleep and play. They each have their own likes and dislikes and we LOVE knowing each and every one of them for who they are.
Fiber Share Options
Standard CSA Fiber Share $150
(NYS Sheep & Wool Price $100)
A Standard CSA Share is available at an affordable rate! Standard Share ownership provides you with the option of choosing a Raw, Roving or Yarn Share. This share provides 4% percent of the entire spring clip. A standard share will provide you with a mix of natural colored fiber from our Alpacas (soft, non-irritating, lanolin free) & Pygora Goats (lovely, soft mohair/cashmere blend).

Sponsored CSA Fiber Share $200
(NYS Sheep & Wool Price $150)
The Sponsored Share allows the owner to choose not only how they would like to receive their fiber (raw, roving or yarn) but also gives you the choice of color and/or animal that you would like your fiber harvested from. You will still receive 4% of the crop but it will be specifically collected from the animal/color of your choice.

Premium CSA Fiber Share $300
(NYS Sheep and Wool Price $250)
The Premium CSA Fiber & Yarn Share provides the owner with the same 4% of the fiber crop, the same fiber choice, and the same animal/color choice BUT will also include fiber selected only from prime blanket fleece. This share provides the owner with the “cream of the crop!”

Benefits of Owning a CSA Fiber & Yarn Share
A CSA Fiber and Yarn Share from Creekside Acres is not just a “share” of the clip! You will also be able to get to know the animals that you are spinning or knitting (or crocheting, etc.) from. Since our shares are limited and our herd is small there are only 25 shares available and they sell QUICKLY! 19 Shares become available for sale to the public and the other 6 remain part of the farm. When you purchase a CSA Fiber & Yarn Share you will receive 4% of our total clip as raw fiber, a roving or yarn (your choice!). Along with your CSA Share, you will receive a monthly newsletter and weekly updates about the farm and the farm happenings, a box of note cards featuring “your” fiber animal, the occasional unexpected gift and an invitation to our annual Shearing Day in the spring. You are also welcome to visit the farm anytime you need a break or want to play with the animals. If you are feeling motivated you can even help trim hooves, clean poop, stack hay or just take someone out on a halter walk!
When you purchase a Creekside Acres CSA Fiber & Yarn share you know you are receiving fresh fiber, where it is coming from and most importantly, you know that the animals it came from are well taken care of!

CSA Yarn Share
Owners interested in purchasing their share as a Yarn Share will receive the described share above but in the form of yarn. Yarn Share owners have the choice of receiving 4 % of the clip for an extra $50 OR they can simply receive 3% of the clip for the price above.
Predator Free Herd
Our herd is carefully protected from predators by our farm/house dogs that patrol the property daily and a llama lives with the herd and protects them day and night.

What is CSA (Community Supported Agriculture)?
Over the last 20 years, Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) has become a popular way for consumers to buy local, seasonal food directly from a farmer. Here are the basics: a farmer offers a certain number of "shares" to the public. Typically the share consists of a box of vegetables, but other farm products may be included. Interested consumers purchase a share (aka a "membership" or a "subscription") and in return receive a box (bag, basket) of seasonal produce each week throughout the farming season.
This arrangement creates several rewards for both the farmer and the consumer.
